Neither Taylor's daughter, Jackie, nor Taylor's girlfriend were injured in the attack.
Spirit in the Sky
"I'm going up to the Spirit in the Sky - That's where I want to go when I die...", the words and music hum through the minds of anyone who has listened to top-40 radio in the past four decades. Music legend Norman Greenbaum penned and recorded the hit song "Spirit In The Sky" in late 1969, which rocketed to #1 in the U.S. and Great Britain. Named song of the year by Cashbox magazine in 1970, the single would go on to sell over two million copies.
Nerdcore
I feel at home at hip hop shows. I am in my element. I am around people who love the same kind of music I love. This past Wednesday night, however, for the first time in my show-going life I was at a hip hop show as an outsider. Nerdcore rap was something that I had only vaguely heard of, all I knew of it was rap with a whole lot of references to video games, Dungeons and Dragons, Star Wars, the Internet and comic books and oh yeah this MC Frontalot guy was considered the "Godfather" of it all.

Prairie Tumbleweed Farm
Talk about turning lemons into lemonade! Prairie Tumbleweed Farm in Kansas has created a new gift idea by turning tumbleweeds, which are kind of like giant weedy hairballs of the prairie, into a popular holiday item. They are promoting tumbleweeds as a distinctive item that can be used as a decoration (plenty of space for lights, tinsel, etc.) or as a unique gift.
Cyber Monday
Cyber Monday was born in 2005 when a retail trade group coined the term to describe the surge in online shopping as workers returned to their cubicles the Monday after Thanksgiving eager to continue buying holiday gifts. Initially billed as one of the busiest online shopping days of the year, in fact, last year it didn't even make the top 10, according to ComScore Inc., a Reston, Va.-based firm that monitors online traffic.
Stephanie Pratt
I'm assuming Lauren would extend her "It's not okay to have your boyfriend do your dirty work" philosophy to sisters. Stephanie Pratt (aka She-Pratt) stepped into her brother's shoes by berating Lauren, Brody, and Audrina, defending her (possibly) soon-to-be sister-in-law and the Pratt dynasty.

Typhoid
The situation also means the once-tough-talking Spitzer, now widely considered by his fellow Democrats as "the Typhoid Mary of politics" because of the political damage done to them by his massively unpopular plan to give driver's licenses to illegal aliens, has entered a desperate new phase of his first year in office - one in which he rejects the advice of his own financial professionals in order to curry favor with the voters.

Bitten by a bat but kissed on stage
Mr Darling may think that, even when a mega-blunder occurs, a Chancellor of the Exchequer need not consider his position, but Times columnists take our responsibilities more seriously. Were anyone bitten by a bat to die of rabies on account of reading this column last week and taking my advice not to bother seeing a doctor, I would feel honour-bound to resign. So I had better cover myself.

american girl dolls
It was Sept. 28 and I was late too late to score a lunch reservation at American Girl Place for any weekend from mid-November to mid-December. This was a problem. Our trip to the American Girl mega-complex on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan had become a tradition in our family _ something my daughters and, yes, even me, really looked forward to as a way to kick off the holidays. If I think about it rationally, I shouldn't like it so much. It's too expensive, it's too crowded, it's too ridiculous to think about scores of girls lined up for their turn to watch their dolls get their hair styled at the AG Salon for $20 - and perhaps a facial scrub (for the dolls) too.

myspace thanksgiving comments
As I was leaving a comment for my daughter on her MySpace, I noticed a little section she had added that listed things in her life that she wouldn't trade for anything. She had things like racing horses down the beach with her best friends, ACS (Methodist Youth Conference) and Thanksgiving with her whole family. I smiled as I read the list of moments in her life that she wouldn't trade for anything. Those moments in our lives are what Thanksgiving is about. It's not about whether the turkey is perfect or if the pie is right. Usually at our house, the turkey is done when the smoke alarm goes off. myspace thanksgiving comments
